Elevated Foundation
A multi-media exhibit featuring student designs for an academic commons at Cal Poly.
Elevated Foundation is a multi-media exhibit featuring student designs for an academic commons at Cal Poly. Students in Professor Omar Faruque’s Landscape Architecture classes, LA 402 and LA 436, envisioned the academic commons as an environment of multifunctional outdoor and interior spaces that foster academic connections across all six of Cal Poly’s colleges.
The exhibit also incorporates ideas and images from the 2014 architectural master plan for Kennedy Library and showcases student-designed way-finding and mapping schemas that were inspired by the master plan’s aesthetic.
